A study about promotion of the job-creation through work plan of nursing students

Abstract
Lately, due to intensifying college graduates' unemployment, the chance to get employed is getting narrower which led to college students agonize about their own careers and employment and choose majors that are easier to get jobs. Nursing major is one of the majors with highest employment rate in university and college. Nursing students tend to choose the major considering the stability of job, in other words, the employment guarantee without consideration about one's aptitude or characteristics of nursing job. Also, unlike other majors, they chose major to become a nurse, and as they can be nurse once they pass national exam, they have less concern for employment compared to others. However, since the 2000s, the government announced various policies and support to solve insufficient number of nurse problem which led to increase of nursing students, they now face the unexpected employment stress that nursing major's employment rate is no longer safe. Also, as nursing students decide career at the point of college admission, they have lesser opportunity to explore major or career. So for students who chose nursing major without understanding characteristic of major and job evaluation, they tend to fail to adjust to nursing professional society as a rookie nurse. As the result of unprepared work plan of nursing students, there are conflict about nursing job after graduation, high turnover rate due to decreased job satisfaction. Therefore, there is a need to enhance work plan concerning individual ability rather than the employment rate itself. This study aims to measure the information search, management action and active behavior that occurs in the process of nursing student preparing employment, conduct research focusing on the work plan that affects them, and provide fundamental data to establish employment strategy of nursing students. As the result, information search, management action and active behavior of nursing student was confirmed to affect work plan.
